When a station has been vandalized, follow these steps :
1. Assess the condition of the station
Inspect the station thoroughly to determine if it can be repaired.
Look for typical signs of vandalism, such as:
Damage to the hook system (locker opening/closing) — for example, if it was forced open with a crowbar.
If the damage seems minor, try gently straightening the parts with a hammer.
If necessary, replace the damaged hook or locker mechanism.
2. If the station is repairable
Once repairs are made, verify that the station opens, closes, and locks correctly.
If everything functions properly, the station can remain in service.
3. If the station is irreparable
If the damage is too severe, replace the station with a new one.
Refer to the article "How to install a new station" for detailed guidance.
4. Recover reusable parts
Bring the damaged station back to the stock area and recover all usable components (doors, shelves, electronic box, batteries, reset button, etc.).
5. Properly dispose of the station body
Once salvage is complete, transport the station frame to a recycling center (waste disposal site).
